Talk to Us

Position Description

Us: Authentic, idealistic, courageous, innovative, inclusive, excellent, and love. These are our values and we are committed to walk the talk. Hope needs help – our help. We believe the world has plenty for everyone – to do, to learn, to believe in, to enjoy, and to offer. We exist to connect idealists to create massive positive change. We leave the world better than we found it, build networks of dreamers who do, and live the life we’ve imagined. We know that there is a lot of work to do to realize this vision and we love that we get to do it together. We focus our efforts on consulting services, content, experiences that transform individuals and organizations, and build this peer-to-peer community for idealists. We think with our heads and feel with our hearts, and we act with confidence and compassion. We’re idealists, leaders, innovators, and doers; we are Plenty.

You: Bright, energetic, and can hold your own in front of an audience. You are not easily intimidated and aren’t afraid to ask questions or say, “I don’t have the answer, but here’s what my gut says.” You seek to validate these instincts through research and an openness to feedback. You have a thick skin but also a soft heart and aren’t afraid to show it. You can see the big picture but also revel in the details. You listen as much as you talk, and people want to hear what you have to say. Marrying right-brain ideas with left-brain facts and figures to tell a story is right up your alley. You are a born leader yet team-focused; a quick learner and roll with change easily. You have professional experience with a nonprofit and understand fundraising.

The work: As a Fundraising Associate, you assist Consultants advising on peer-to-peer programs. You spearhead collecting qualitative and quantitative information about our clients. You use head and heart to interpret and analyze the research, and help the team build recommendations to improve their fundraising program(s). You provide a unique perspective and vision to client projects, and stay up to date on trends with fundraising and social change. You build kick-ass presentations that inspire and educate. You get to travel with your really cool teammates, who will be the best part of every business trip. And ultimately, you make sure we bring everything Plenty has to offer to each engagement.

We're a good fit if: You live in Chicago and have at least a year of work experience with nonprofits, preferably in fundraising. You have experience working in a client-based setting and thrive in collaborative environments. You are just as disciplined working from home as you are in an office, and you dig having virtual teammates. You are a pro at communicating both the spoken and the written word, and can command a room with both credibility and humility. Technology doesn’t scare you. You are, of course, really likable, and most importantly, you want to be a part of a team that works to create a better world.

To apply: If this sounds like you, we want to hear from you! Please submit your cover letter, resume, and a self-written paragraph telling us something you are passionate about to Stephanie at sbarton@plentyconsulting.com with the subject line Associate. We will review your information and if it’s a good match we will contact you to start the conversation.
