Happy New Year! We hope your holiday was happy, fulfilling, and bright.
And ... now what?
The presents have all been opened. The parties are over. Your houseguests have gone home. The confetti has been cleaned up – um, at least most of it.
Like most of our readers, you probably spent a bit of time over the past week reflecting on your past year – the highs and lows, the ups and downs. And you probably spent a bit more setting a few goals for yourself.
It's easy to feel upbeat and optimistic on January 1st. You carry the momentum of some much-needed time off and self-care back into your first day of work ... and then it runs smack into due dates, emails, Slack notices, and end-of-year wrap-up that never quite got finished.
By January 4th, your list of goals may already seem a bit unrealistic.
Before you let your optimism fade away, we wanted to offer some perspectives to help you turn your hopes for a better year into a gift that gives back to you all year long.
Here are some tools that might help.
First, thank yourself. It's tempting to run headlong into the new year with a wave, nod, and a "good riddance" to 2023. But if you do that, you'll miss all the growth you contributed to yourself and others over the past twelve months. Remember to take a few moments to thank yourself for how you've grown. You're amazing!
Not clear on what's next? Give yourself time to reflect. We've created a beautiful New Year's meditation to help you slow down, reflect on what you really want, and articulate what is calling you next. It's the best ten minutes you'll spend this week! Listen here.
Add the power of intention to your 2024 resolutions. New Year's resolutions get all the press – but what about intentions? The two are related but different. Simply put, resolutions tend to be goals that denote what you hope to achieve with your life. Intentions denote how you hope to be as you live that life. Our latest blog, Goals Versus Intentions: Setting Conscious New Year's Resolutions, can help you craft the words and the world that you want.
It’s great to consider what you want to achieve this year. But don’t forget to ask yourself a more important question: What do you want to experience this year?
And finally, if you're ready to make 2024 the year that you completely level up your visualization, your achievement, and most of all, your fulfillment, we'd love to host you at Lantern, our retreat for conscious leaders. We have three sessions scheduled for 2024 – and from now until January 15, 2024, you can save $250 using the code NEWYOU at checkout. (Not that there's anything wrong with the old you! 😉)
We're excited for the new year. With our book coming out in a few short months, there's a lot of growth in store for us, and a lot to look forward to. We hope you can say the same – and if we can help you grow into what's next for you, we'd love to!
Best wishes and happy new year!
Level up your visualization, your achievement, and most of all, your fulfillment.
