Follow The Feeling Of Feeling Good
Could it be this easy?
What if living the life we dream of is possible right this very moment? What if we’ve had the key to unlock that life all along? What if that key—the magic manifestation tool—was simply the choice to follow the feeling of feeling good?
Now, I might as well get right to the inner critic who shouts, “But life is full of hard work, hardship, and difficult decisions. It doesn’t count unless you work for it. You have to figure it out, work on it, and do things you don't always want to do to get where you want to go.”
Maybe. But does it have to be that way?
In a world that demands us to move faster, perform better, and constantly achieve, losing touch with what makes us feel good is an easy trap to fall into. We've been taught that hard work is the only path to success, right? Perhaps.
If you’re like me, you’ve bought into the cultural conditioning that you must work hard for what you want. You’ve unconsciously forced rather than flowed, pushed rather than allowed, and resisted rather than surrendered. And that way can get heavy. That heaviness may manifest as exhaustion, confusion, or overwhelm in your life. Or maybe that approach is simply losing its appeal—you can feel yourself outgrowing a way that no longer works for you. That’s how it’s been for me.
What if it doesn’t have to be heavy? What if the drain you feel is a nudge toward a new way?
This past year, I’ve become deeply interested in following the feeling of feeling good. What feels good to me?
- Getting up early to have coffee, meditate, and commune with my guides
- Starting my day picking an Oracle card
- Taking my daughter to school
- Watching the sunrise from anywhere
- Running on the beach in Mexico
- Facetiming with my son at college
- Going to hot yoga
- Taking a hot Epsom salt bath
- Journaling and writing
- Having Awesome Hours
- Leading guided meditations
- Listening to peaceful ascension music and playing with sound
- Hiking or walking in the woods with my husband and dog
- Having deep, meaningful, conscious conversations with clients and friends
- Making a yummy, healthy dinner
- Spending more time alone with my self and soul
- Expanding my healing abilities
- Learning new spiritual psychic skills
- Coaching others who are interested in spiritual and conscious growth
- Helping entrepreneurs bring their visions to life
Doing so has made me feel lighter, freer, and more mystified by the synchronicities that unfold when I do.
The Power of Tuning In
We each have a natural rhythm that ebbs and flows throughout the day. But too often, we forget to notice, listen, and honor that rhythm. When you greet the morning, are you on autopilot, or do you begin with awareness, alignment, and intention?
In the quiet morning moments, as the world still slumbers, we can best hear the tune of our soul. How do you want to start your day? Do you crave movement, or do you seek stillness? Does the comforting warmth of a cup of coffee or tea call to you? Or perhaps journaling brings you clarity and intention? There is no right or wrong answer—only what aligns with you at the moment. The real question is: Are you listening? What if feeling good was your birthright? What if you could permit yourself to feel good all day long?
Your feeling good compass is ever-changing, as life is constantly in motion. As you move through your day, do yourself a favor: tune into the feeling of feeling good and let it guide you. It might mean saying yes to an invitation or gracefully declining in favor of solitude. It might mean slowing down or taking action.
I believe that if we are attuned to the feeling of feeling good, we will naturally be led toward a life of fulfillment—where ease, grace, and joy become more of our everyday experience.
Three Steps to Following the Feeling of Feeling Good
1. Understand Your Body’s Signals
Our bodies are wise storytellers, whispering signals about our true needs and desires, often before our conscious mind can grasp them. By learning to listen to our body’s wisdom, we open a personal dialogue that is deeply revealing, enlightening, and transformative.
Before you jump out of bed each morning, take a moment to check-in. How do your muscles feel? Is there tension or relaxation? Is your breath shallow or deep? What is its natural rhythm before your thoughts kick in? Do you feel energized and ready to go, or is your body craving more rest?
Does the thought of a brisk walk invigorate you, or does the serenity of meditation sound more appealing? The key is to listen—each day, hour, and minute might bring a different answer. When you cultivate deep body awareness, you empower yourself to make choices that align with your true self, setting the stage for a life of flow.
2. Go With the Current
When faced with a decision, which choice feels best? Which path has the least resistance? Instead of forcing your way through, what if you leaned into ease?
In Leading with Light, we use the river metaphor: Are you paddling against the current today, or are you flowing with it? Flowing with the current often feels intuitive, light, and effortless. You can apply this approach to both big and small decisions—what to eat, which projects to focus on, how to spend your time, and with whom.
Notice when choices feel forced. These moments are invitations to pause and reassess. What would happen if you followed what feels natural, simple, and right to you and only you? The answer may surprise you.
3. Recognize Your Moments of Expansion
The most powerful step in following flow is noticing when and where you light up. When do you feel open and hopeful? When does positive energy radiate from you without effort? When do you feel excitement in your heart for what you are experiencing? What attracts you? These moments are not random—they are guideposts pointing you toward what you are truly made for.
If we pay attention, these moments act like fireflies on a warm summer night, illuminating our path and revealing a lighter, more playful way of being.
Maybe you light up when you’re deep in creative expression, solving a problem, or helping others. These aren’t just hobbies or interests—they’re clues to your purpose. When you take note of these moments, you create a roadmap toward what brings you the most fulfillment.
By following things that feel good, you honor your true self and step onto a path of genuine alignment that is lighter, freer, and filled with more things that light you up.
